On a Saturday morning, the kibbutz faced a brutal attack by dozens of armed individuals on motorcycles. These terrorists disabled security cameras and set houses on fire, attempting to force the occupants outside for a deadly ambush. Innocent families were targeted by Hamas terrorists, including the elderly, babies, children, women, and men. For many hours, the residents had to fend for themselves. Remarkably, 30 people, consisting of 16 Israeli residents and 14 Thai agricultural workers, managed to hide from the attackers for three days until their rescue on Monday night.

On October 7th kibutz "Kerem Shalom" was under constant fire from Gaza (that is still on going) and from hordes of Hamas terrorists that have left havoc and destruction throughout the Kibutz and its green pastures. In order to continue the life of this community, Kerem Shalom is in dire need for reconstruction and rebuilding of its houses and thus to enable its residence to return to their homes.

Supporting those in need all year long – now days their circle of support has expanded significantly, including the survivors of the attack.

On Saturday, the 7th of October, during the holiday of Simchat Torah holiday, Kibbutz Yad Mordechai was subjected to a terrorist attack by Hamas militants. They were stopped at the border thanks to the bravery of the kibbutz members and a dedicated police force who joined them. Together, with great determination, they averted the deadly threat and prevented armed terrorists from infiltrating the kibbutz. Moshav Talmei Yosef is located in Hevel Shalom, opposite Rafiah in the Gaza Strip. The Moshav is home to 90 families, some of whom are engaged in agriculture, while others are not. On Saturday, 7/10/23, the residents woke up to alarm sounds. The extent of the attack became clear very quickly when two vans full of terrorists arrived at the Moshav gate. The reserve unit soldiers did not give up and did not run away, even though they knew that they might not come out alive. Most of the moshav's residents evacuated the next afternoon in a secured convoy to different places in the country, and they have been there ever since.

On October 7th 2023, Kibbutz Re'im, located on the border between Israel and the Gaza Strip, experienced a brutal terrorist attack on a large scale. Dozens of Hamas terrorists infiltrated the kibbutz, slaughtering and injuring a large number of civilians, women, children and senior citizens.

We are Moshav Yesha, located in the Eshkol Regional Council, just 7 km from the Gaza border. On a fateful day, we came under attack by heartless individuals with the intent to cause harm and destruction. For the initial 24 hours, we found ourselves in a state of fear, lacking assistance and an understanding of the gravity of the situation. In the backdrop, the sound of gunshots and a constant barrage of missiles filled the air. It was the brave residents of the moshav who risked their lives in our defense, ultimately safeguarding our lives. We have since relocated and will remain here until further notice.

On Saturday, October 7th 2023, on the Simchat Torah holiday, a heroic battle took place between Zikim's Emergency Civil Squad and the Hamas terrorists. A huge disastrous catastrophe was prevented and the terrorists were all eliminated. Since then, there have been dozens of penetration attempts that were stopped at the fence, thanks to Israeli soldiers and Zikim's Emergency Civil Squad.
At the same time many rockets are falling inside Zikim, causing severe damage to buildings, cars and equipment. Luckily and miraculously we have only a few injured. The Kibbutz has been evacuated, but we continue to run the critical systems such as looking after our large dairy farm.
When this war ends, we will face the challenge of reconstructing and repairing the physical and material damage as well as healing the psychological trauma. We will need to rebuild our community and convince our members to stay in Zikim and continue life in our beautiful beloved Kibbutz. Established in 1943 as an agriculture village. This was the second time terrorists tried to massacre the civilians (2014, 2023). The defense team, composed of volunteered civilians, and led by the first woman in this position - were able to fight the terrorists until the IDF forces arrived and joined the battle. After hours of battle between the kibbutz’s quick response squad and the terrorists, the area was cleared of terrorists. Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 6:30 AM, a massive rocket barrage began on Kibbutzes and cities adjacent to the Gaza border. With great resourcefulness and tenacity, the kibbutz's emergency preparedness squad deployed to positions just minutes before the terrorists attempted to infiltrate the kibbutz. The first two members of the squad reached the high observation post. After identifying two trucks on the road leading to the kibbutz, they contacted the operations room and requested permission to fire. When it was confirmed that these were not Israel Defense Forces (IDF), permission was granted, and the two opened fire on the terrorists. A fierce gun battle ensued. Simultaneously, the emergency preparedness squad of Kibbutz Or Haner was mobilized to assist the small force fighting at Erez. This assistance made it possible to continue the fighting while evacuating the wounded to a safe area. The fighting lasted for three hours.

On Saturday, October 7, hundreds of terrorists, armed to the teeth and mounted on motorcycles and vans, burst into Kibbutz Beeri. The standby squad immediately jumped into action and fought bravely, but within minutes it was clear that they were outnumbered when they were faced with dozens of terrorists in a frenzy to slaughter and destroy everyone and everything in their path. The squad fought fiercely, but they were left alone for a long time. The terrorists raided entire neighborhoods, breaking into houses, setting them on fire, and shooting and killing their residents. Kibbutz Beeri is a resilient community, and we are determined to rebuild. We are currently concentrating on providing an initial response to the residents of the kibbutz in order to remain the same strong community. Only 100 meters separate Gaza from "Netiv HaAsara". On October 7th 2023, around 35 Hamas terrorists stormed this settlement, 6 of them arriving on paragliders. In this attack alone, at least 21 civilians were murdered. The majority of the settlement was burned down to the ground and it is in desperate need of rebuilding.

On Saturday October 7th the residents of the Israeli communities along the border with Gaza were viciously attacked by barbaric Hamas terrorists. Some of the victims were slaughtered in their homes. Some were kidnapped and are still missing. The survivors have lost everything. All their possessions were looted or destroyed.

Saturday morning, October 7, 2023, will forever be etched in the history of Kibbutz Mefalsim as the most challenging morning the Kibbutz has ever faced. However, it was also a morning marked by courage, heroism, and miracles. At 06:30 in the morning, our day began with the jarring sound of alarms and explosions. Many families had spent the night at a community campsite in the olive grove, a peaceful interlude that was abruptly interrupted that morning. Swiftly, they jumped into their vehicles and raced back to their homes, navigating through falling Qassems and the widespread destruction. Had they delayed by just another 10 minutes, they might have fallen victim to the murderous terrorists who were en route to the kibbutz.

Starting in the early morning hours of Black Saturday, October 7, 2023, with the first rocket barrage launched from the Gaza Strip, Moshav Yated was plunged into darkness as the electricity supply was cut off.

This left 170 households in the moshav barricaded in darkness, including families with children, the elderly, foreign workers, and all residents without exception. They remained confined within their shelters, unable to contact the outside world due to the power outage, which disrupted internet lines and hindered communication with security forces.

Sheba Medical Center is fully mobilized to wherever they are needed, to provide urgent medical treatment and rehabilitate the wounded from the brutal attacks.

On Saturday, October 7, Moshav Sde Nitzan, situated approximately 7.2 kilometers from Gaza, awoke to a brutal terrorist attack, a horrifying event shared by the neighboring kibbutzim. Moshav Sde Nitzan was founded in the Eshkol Regional Council exactly 50 years ago in 1973. It was established by a group of dedicated founders, some of whom continue to reside there today. Their motivation was a profound love for the land of Israel and a sincere desire to settle the Western Negev and cultivate its soil.

On Saturday morning, October 7th 2023, the kibbutz’s rapid response squad pushed back Hamas’s attack. IDF forces arrived to the scene 7 hours later. One kibbutz member was murdered and two other members were injured. On Sunday, there was another attempted invasion by Hamas terrorists into the kibbutz that was stopped by the IDF. On October 9th the entire kibbutz was evacuated, and now needs to be revived before the members can return.
